College of Business Alumni Highlight

2LT Amareya N. Taylor a Business Administration (Human Resource Management) student was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Alabama Army National Guard into the Adjutant General Corps. Amareya was a member of the Alumni Ambassador Association and the Mustang Battalion Ranger Challenge Team. During her time as a Cadet, she was awarded the Silver and Bronze Athlete Medals, Colored Guard ribbon, USAA Spirit Award, Reserve Officers Association of the United States Silver Academic Medal, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Silver Medal and the Superior Cadet Award. Way to go Amareya!

School of Accountancy

The AUM Government Financial Management Student Society will meet on January 22 in the Taylor Center Room 223 at 5:30 pm. Alabama Department of Revenue and Alabama Department of Insurance speakers will be presenting on careers within those departments. All COB students are welcome to attend - food will be served.

Faculty Highlights

Jackson, CharlesCongratulations to Mr. Charles Jackson as he takes on the role of Interim Graduate Program Director for the College of Business. His major focus will be the MBA program, but he will also help with the HCA and MSMIS recruitment/administrative tasks. Mr. Jackson officially started Spring 2020.

Business Professional Job Interviewing Attire

In an interview, you want your skills and professional personality to make a statement, not your outfit.

Clothes should be:

  • Solid, dark or neutral colors
  • Light colors can be worn underneath
  • No stripes or bright print/colors
  • Suit jacket and pants/skirt should be matching colors
  • Tailored, in good condition, and wrinkle and lint free

Also:

  • Hair well groomed
  • Nails and makeup natural in style
  • Wear moderate jewelry and mild fragrances
  • Neat and clean dress shoes
  • Belts should match the color of your shoes and attire

And, finally, don't forget:

  • Keep cellphones turned off and out of sight with personal items
  • Carry a portfolio, professional bag or simple purse
  • Bring essentials only!
