B.S.B.A. Accounting Specialization
The accounting specialization prepares students to enter a variety of accounting careers. Students should finish required the AUM Core Curriculum and the School of Business lower Division Business Core before starting the Accounting Specialization. The accounting program consists of six required courses designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills generally expected of all entry-level accountants. Students have the opportunity to select electives that lead to their choice of careers. Recommended elective courses are provided for career paths in public accounting, government accounting, and corporate accounting.
Students planning to sit for the Certified Public Accountant Examination in Alabama must satisfy the requirements of the Alabama Public Accountancy Act. These requirements are described in the section for the Public Accounting Path.
